Marble Polisher

Responsibilities :-

• Reads and follows work order specifications
• Grinds and polishes surface to desired finish, using portable grinding and polishing tools
• Selects tool attachments appropriate for surface types to achieve desired finish
• Uses hose to wet surface and guides rotating wheel over material to smooth surface
• Ensures grit and dust are washed off finished surfaces
• Applies polishing compounds to surfaces when necessary
• Inspects surfaces for uneven areas, chips and other defects/imperfections; follow procedures to address any issues
• Uses abrasive blocks to smooth surfaces when machines or tools cannot be used
• Fills cracks or imperfections with colour-matched wax for certain materials
• Ensures all work is carried out in accordance with Health & Safety policies and procedures

Skills and Qualifications

• Previous experience operating tools to sand or polish stone.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on superior quality artisanship
• Self-starter with a positive attitude who is able to work in a fast-paced work environment
• Able to work independently and meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision
• Previous manufacturing environment experience is an asset
• Able to work overtime as required to maintain production schedules
• Have the willingness to learn and improve skills
• Provide feedback to manager regarding process improvements
• Able to stand for prolonged periods of time and manually large pieces of material

Salary: $18.00-$20.00 per hour

Schedule: – Monday to Friday

Experience: – Marble polishing: 1 year (required)
